You are officially my new internet blogging hero! I have just started planning my wedding and came across your blog while trying to decide between Steam Whistle Brewery and the Church of Berkeley for our venue. You've definitely given me a few more things to consider... thanks!
Hello! I'm planning to get married in Toronto in 2011, and just stumbled across your blog. It has been SO helpful! I am in love with the Berkeley, just based on photos, but am worried that it is totally out of my budget ($20,000). My fiancé and I actually don't want to do a sit-down dinner, and are aiming for more of a cocktail-style reception, with hors d'oeuvres (to cut down on costs). Do you have any idea if the Berkeley caterers would allow us to do this, or is a sit-down meal mandatory?
It really seems like it would be the only way we could afford this venue. Would you have any ballpark idea of what the pp cost might be if we decide to go the hors d'oeuvres/finger foods route at Berkeley? I would appreciate any advice (even if your advice is basically just to kiss the Berkeley goodbye if I want to stay within budget!)
Thanks so much. And thanks for this blog! It's been immensely helpful already :)
